Dealers are in business to sell their inventory. Period. Whether they do this

And much the same as an auto loan, a dealer does not directly finance your car
lease. The dealership attempts to secure financing for your vehicle from banks,
finance companies or through the car maker themselves (think GMAC, Toyota, Ford
Credit). When the dealer does write a lease, they build in a premium or "mark
up" – pretty much the same as when for a car loan, though its much harder to
discern. This is a normal business practice, but you must keep in mind that the
dealer is acting in the best interests of 1) themselves and 2) their partners
(banks, auto maker, etc.). Spending time to find out just how much the rate has
been marked up can be especially difficult, time consuming and frustrating.
